NEW FINDS: PHONE OR PURSE OR SOMETHING COOLER?

You know by now I'm not into anything "traditional" unless you are trying to feed me a Thanksgiving meal...then I have a set list of traditional items you do not want to forget.  So when it comes to what you would call "the traditional accessory" you think of necklaces on chains, a cuff bracelet or two and on special occasions you switch out your studs for dangley earrings-- maybe a hat if you are so daring. Shoes. Purses.  BUT I LIVE ON THE WILD SIDE.

Also, I feel very foreign wearing lots of jewelry. I feel like I have too many things to keep track of.

Also, I am too picky when it comes to purses so I never buy them.

Also I am all about a singular statement piece.

THEN
I
FOUND

_______wait 4 it_______

this rad-as-hell cell phone case

I stubbled across a similar case (obviously v. knock-off) on one of those microtrendy sites like NastyGal or whatever..of course for the newest iPhone...and for my beautifully broken Samsung (two or three...idk...versions behind the times) I cried a few tears.  Then ran (figuratively, this is after all, only the internet) to Ebay.

& now it's mine.

& I love love love it because phones these days are too big for pockets and we forget things that are in pockets anyway.  I'm not sure why I've never seen a case with a strap like a purse before but I am ALL ABOUT IT.  This will be great for going out when i don't want to drag along a purse :)  I'm thinking of maybe making a simple black case with a strap too for more ~casual~ situations.

KAWAII KAT WOMAN

Greetings Earthlings!  Have you ever wanted to wear a "very kawaii thing" but felt like you couldn't "pull it off?"  HAVE NO FEAR, CAT WOMAN IS HERE--

(this is what my photos r going 2 look like since i'm back in Kansas lol)

My mom gave me these faux thigh-high tights as a late Christmas gift and, to be honest, I seriously questioned how I was going to pull them off because they are such a statement.  I think there are the two opposing ends of the spectrum we much venture to in order to consider such a statement item-- Make the rest of your outfit loud and proud, or keep it subtle, stupid.

Of course, yes, keeping your outfit plain is easy and you can figure that out...my go to is ~* aLL bLaCk *~...per usual.  But what's the fun in that?  Topping things off with a cat hat adds some cheekiness that is fun on a day when you are feeling especially playful.

I'm not sure where my mom found these but i've seen multiple versions and upon a google search I found these for you guys (SOMEONE PLEASE GET THEM SO I CAN SEE): CAT TATTOO TIGHTS

Preparing to take over the world now, brb <3

DIY: EMBELLISHED KNEE

The day I walked into Hobby Lobby and realized all the beads were 50% -and that it would include that gigantic 1 lb. tub of acrylic gemstones I'd been eyeing previously- was one of the most beautiful days of my life.  That day was probably almost a year ago, and I've still got a ridiculous amount of gemstones left.  I've been trying to get creative on how to use them in a mildly excessive manner recently, and to what some may call fate (or too much time spent lurking the internet) I came across this lovely image of a pair of embellished jeans:

Putting two and two together I decided to spend a Sunday morning doing a little crafting which meant glueing all of my fingers together while trying to do a decent enough DIY to actually want to wear them in public.  Although I've no idea the bonding properties, blah-de-blah- of the glue I used, let's just say it was the really pungent kind (both smell and strength-wise).  I wore them out to lunch yesterday and fell asleep in them for the afternoon after lunch after too much pizza, and they held up completely fine--we'll have to see about a wash cycle later but I'm sure turning them inside-out will help a lot.

Ta-da! I feel like these jeans, like many, can be dressed up or down as long as your look is still pretty basic--for example white button down/white pumps-- but I'll stick to a baseball or oversized tee & converse any day of the week. I must admit I'd rather have had jeans that were a little baggier/boyfriend style but this was a pair I had that I didn't feel worried experimenting on and hey, Young Alex would be so proud of my Barbie jeans, and that's all I could ask for.
